By  |

Today, technology is evolving at a very fast pace and it has led to the innovation of different amazing products and services. In fact, new technological advancements are greatly influencing the business and consumer world and this is becoming frequent lately. So, below are some of the new technologies that are developing and changing the world today and in the nearby future;

  1. Robot assistants: Today, several companies are investing in making a variety of robotic assistants that can be used in product-production and battlefields. For example, Boston Dynamics is developing intelligent robots that operate effectively in the real world while Knightscope is working of robotic assistants for security applications.

  1. Voice assistants (Voice Interface Technology): Today, more people are acquiring voice assistant devices like; Amazon-Echo or Apple-Homepod. In fact, these voice-assistants use artificial intelligence (AI) to carry out tasks asked by their owners. Additionally, voice-assistants are making a significant impact in markets across the world and experts think that in the nearby future we will be communicating with technology through voice more than text.

  1. Augmented and mixed reality (virtual-reality): Today, big companies like Apple are investing billions in augmented reality hardware. For example, Apple’s latest phones are equipped with augmented reality capabilities and the company is also working on an AR headset that will replace the iPhone in the nearby future.

  1. Crispr (Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindrome Repeats): It is a gene-splicing technology designed to find and remove mutated sections of DNA. In fact, once the mutated-material is removed, crispr technology can replace it with non-mutated variants hence crushing genetic diseases like; cystic fibrosis, Sickle-cell, Huntington, cancer, genetically caused blindness and a lot more. In fact, crispr has the power to permanently eliminate certain types of genetic diseases from blood-lines.

  1. Self-Driving Vehicles (Driverless vehicles): Today, companies like; Volvo, Tesla and General-Motors (GM) have already developed autonomous vehicles. However, self-driving technology is still rapidly evolving and soon autonomous-cars without steering-wheels or pedals will be launched. Additionally, Uber is developing pilotless flying vehicles and it has actually teamed-up with NASA to develop an air-traffic-control system.

  1. Blockchain-Technology (Cryptocurrency): This technology is being used to create various secure and fast applications including Cryptocurrencies like; Bitcoin and a lot more. Additionally, platforms like; TrustToken help to connect the global trading power of blockchains with real-world assets, HybridBlock helps to give crypto enthusiasts greater access to silo-trading markets and it is even providing the Asian market with a new form of crypto education coupled with various tools for executing crypto trades.

  1. Artificial intelligence (AI): Today, AI is being used for semantic data extraction in legacy digital assets and in aiding customer experience with more tailored information. In fact, most big-companies are increasingly turning to automation in order to better serve customers and to reduce on operational costs. For example, Big-box retailers using automated warehouses to sort and ship products, social media networks use automation to moderate comments, Banks are using automation to detect fraud. Additionally, there is a company called Synapse that is building a network that gives anyone the ability to contribute data and train automation and machine-learning models.

  1. Quantum computing: Quantum computers rely on quantum bits to carry information and these bits can exist in a state which allows quantum computers to process challenging datasets much better than traditional computers can do. In fact, quantum computing can help produce serious machine-learning breakthroughs that might be impossible solve with regular computing. For example, companies like Microsoft and Google are investing in developing supercomputers capable of developing highly accurate predictive models to be used in things like self-driving cars to marketing campaigns.

  1. 3-D Printers: Today, there are general-purpose, desktop 3D-printers that are very affordable and can be used by anyone. In fact, 3D-Printers can be used to design and fabricate parts in your own home or shop and this is actually encouraging young tech people pursue their careers in STEM.

  1. RFID Tags (radio frequency identification): RFID-Tags are designed to store information and transfer it to a nearby reader through radio-frequency electromagnetic fields. In fact, there are several applications for RFID in almost every industry. In fact, there are some companies that have implemented RFID-technology for security purposes for both property and employees.
